I heard this quote the other day as I was driving into our Fairfax location, and thought, “What better way to show kindness than to the one thing that gives more love than receives?” Pets!

Pets are the perfect companion for a family, especially for the old. For those who children is far away from them, the pets can act as the carrier of miss to expel loneliness. People can pour out their heart to pets, which ease the pressure and miss. According to an survey recently, more than 80% people who have a pet lead a fulfilling life.

Pets are conduced to help child cultivate a healthy behavior and personality, as child always plays games with pets around the garden instead of sitting in front of computer. Additionally, taking dogs for a walk provide a chance for the people who have little time to exercise, making the life more regular and healthy.

And in my humble opinion, stray pets are the best kind of pet…read this poem, and tell me if it doesn’t break your heart:

Stray’s Prayer

Dear God, please send me somebody who’ll care!

I’m tired of running, I’m sick with despair.
My body is aching, it’s so racked with pain,
and dear God I pray, as I run in the rain.
That someone will love me and give me a home,
a warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.My last owner tied me all day in the yard
Sometimes with no water, and god that was hard.
So I chewed my leash, and God I ran away.
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now God, I’m tired and hungry and cold,
and I’m so afraid that I’ll never grow old.
They’ve chased me with sticks and hit me with stones,
while I run the streets just looking for bones!
I’m not really bad, God, please help if you can,
or I have become just a “Victim of Man!”
I’m wormy dear God and I’m ridden with fleas,
and all that I want is an Owner to please!
If you find one for me God, I’ll try to be good,
and I won’t chew their shoes, and I’ll do as I should.
I’ll love them, protect them and try to obey….
when they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay!
I don’t think I’ll make it too long on my own,
cause I’m getting so weak and I’m so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
cause I’m so afraid God, that I’m gonna die.
And I’ve got so much love and devotion to give,
that I should be given a new chance to Live!
So dear God, please answer my prayer,
and send me someone who will REALLY care..
That is, Dear God, if YOU’RE REALLY there!

http://www.bullypaws.org – Bully Paws Pit Bull Patriots is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue. Working with shelters in the MD/DC/VA area, they place homeless pit bull type dogs in foster homes. There, they are cared for by dedicated volunteers until they are adopted.

http://heartpetrescue.org – Heaven and Earth Animal Rescue Team (HEART) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to re-homing displaced dogs and cats. http://www.aspca.org – Founded in 1866, the ASPCA was the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. Their mission, as stated by founder Henry Bergh, is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” The ASPCA works to rescue animals from abuse, pass humane laws and share resources with shelters nationwide.
